So...he's a boy?

We met the neighbors the other night and they were not sure about you. You were dressed like a boy, but your hair is getting so long and you were wearing that...necklace. The neighbor lady hesitated after I introduced you, and said, "So he's a boy?"

Yes. Of course you are a boy. A very handsome little boy. You wear an amber teething necklace which is supposed to ease the pain of teething. And your hair is long for two reasons: 1) You are incapable of holding still, and 2) I can't bring myself to cut it yet.

Baby hair is enchanting. It floats. It is wispy and silky smooth. After a bath, the top if your hair stands up. After a nap, the back of your hair sticks out. It is precious. I don't want to cut your precious little hairs!

Daddy mentions the length of your hair every day, but he doesn't dare cut it either. Scissors? Around your whirling dervish head? Not a good idea.

But don't worry, my love. Even with your long hair and your girly necklace, you are the cutest thing on the planet. You can trust me when I say that, because I'm your mother. :)

I love you, dear boy!
